Brooke’s Chem-Dry in Downtown Platte City: Carpet, Upholstery, Rug and Tile Cleaning
A downtown Platte City living room works hardest between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, and the sofa takes most of it. Brooke’s Chem-Dry® cleans the sofa, the carpet, the stair runner, the rugs and the tile for houses and storefronts around 3rd and Main. One trip does it all, and the carpet dries in 1 to 2 hours.

Pet odor. P.U.R.T.® (Pet Urine Removal Treatment) removes pet urine odors from carpets. It has its own page: pet odor removal in Platte City, MO.
Wood floors. They get their own solution and their own equipment, never the carpet process. See wood floor cleaning in Platte City, MO.

Why the Carpet Dries by Afternoon
Brooke’s Chem-Dry cleans carpet, upholstery and rugs with Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE). Chem-Dry uses a proprietary core cleaner, The Natural®. HCE needs about 80% less water than steam cleaning, which is why a living room cleaned before lunch is usable again that afternoon, with no dirt-attracting residue left in the pile.
We’re locally owned. We’ve been at this since 1998, and certified technicians do every job.

Around the Courthouse Square
Downtown Platte City is a rebuilt town. On December 16, 1861, a Union squad razed it, courthouse included. The Platte County Courthouse at 3rd and Main went up in 1866 and 1867 to a design by architect Peter McDuff: two stories, cruciform, red brick on a limestone foundation. It joined the National Register of Historic Places on January 17, 1979.
At 3rd and Ferrel, Prussian immigrant Frederic Krause built a brick mansion in 1882. It has been on the National Register since 1978. The Platte County Historical Society has run it as the Ben Ferrel Platte County Museum since 1985.
Main Street at the Holidays
The Ben Ferrel museum opens for its Christmas decorations alongside Main Street festivities, on the evening before Thanksgiving and for three days in December. Living rooms fill up that same stretch of the year. Gravy on the sofa arm. Cider on the rug. Wet boots on the entry carpet. Book the cleaning ahead of the rush and it’s done before anyone rings the bell.
Down by the Platte River
Settler’s Crossing Park, at First and Main, has a shelter house overlooking the Platte River and the USS Platte Anchor Veterans Monument. Rising Star Park and Splash Pad opened in October 2021 at 1008 Second Street, with a splash pad, a zip line and a playground. Summer means wet feet. Splash-pad afternoons send them straight to the couch and the carpet, and we’ll take both on the same visit.
Downtown Platte City Chem-Dry FAQ
Do you clean older carpet on narrow stairs?
Yes, full stair carpet and runners both. Before starting, the technician checks for loose or worn spots and tells you what they find. Stairs are usually dry in 1 to 2 hours.
Can you clean carpet in a downtown shop or office outside business hours?
Ask the office when you call. Tell them your hours, and they’ll tell you which appointment times are open for carpet and upholstery.
Can the living room be done before holiday guests show up?
Yes, if you book ahead of the rush. A morning appointment leaves the whole afternoon for putting the furniture back.
How do I request a free quote?
Call 816-841-4776 or fill out the quote form online. Either way, you’ll hear back in under 2 hours.
